With exclusive features found on no other strain wave mounts, the new WAVE series is a serious update and upgrade to Sky-Watcher’s already immensely popular family of astronomy mount platforms.
The Sky-Watcher WAVE-100i is built based on a strain wave or harmonic gearing design. This drive gear design provides a number of benefits including highly precise tracking with minimal backlash for capturing long exposure images, and a compact design with a remarkable payload to weight ratio for the use of various equipment while still being convenient for transportation.
The WAVE-100i, boasting 10kg of payload capacity (15kg with optional counterweight kit), whilst being incredibly compact and lightweight. Sky-Watcher’s WAVE mounts also feature both EQ and AZ tracking modes with RA and DEC home positions, Dual-Fit Saddles, 0–90º latitude range, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth capability, RA power-off braking, and a red backlit latitude display and bubble level to make your setup routine that much easier.
