Alt-Az Mounts (Not Go-To)
An Altitude-Azimuth (Alt-Az) mount is normally prefered for visual observing with an eyepiece, the mount moves left-right and up-down. These Alt-Az mounts are often called “grab and go” because they are more compact and portable than an EQ mount. Movement is done by gently slewing the mount and then subtely turning a slow-motion knob for precision.
