Astro Essentials Solar Filter for Seestar S30 Pro

Designed specifically for the ZWO SeeStar S30 Pro, it covers both lenses and features integral magnets for quick and easy fitting.

This product is 3D printed in tough, black filament, so it has the usual minor imperfections, such as layer lines, common to 3D printing.

Using AstroSolar™ film, the Sun is viewed in its true, neutral white colour, whereas other films and most glass filters tend to add a cool blue or warm orange tint, which reduces parts of the spectrum. Orange in particular makes it difficult to observe faculae regions, as they are mainly visible in the blue part of the spectrum.

Due to its neutral colour balance, AstroSolar enables the use of various colour (or interference) filters, allowing the observer to concentrate on specific spectral passbands to investigate different layers within the solar ‘atmosphere’.

Eye safety

AstroSolar™ is essentially free from pinholes. Since it is coated on both sides, the chance of two pinholes overlapping is extremely small. Pinholes do appear, but only in 1 out of 10000 in optical density 2.5! Baader AstroSolar™ safety film has been approved for eye safety by the German National Bureau of Standards (PTB). Unlike any other Solar Filter on the market, AstroSolar™ is CE-tested in accordance with EG-Norm 89/686 and EN 169/92 (notified body 0196). All processes connected to this product have been thoroughly tested. Coatings are inspected constantly for consistency to ensure your eye safety!

NOTE: This solar filter is designed only for use with the ZWO SeeStar S30 Pro. Do not use it with any other telescope.

IMPORTANT: Never view the Sun without a suitable Solar Filter! Before every use, check that the solar filter fits securely and covers the full telescope aperture.
